Drew Odum honored for outstanding community service
Columbus, OH – Attorney Drew Odum received the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under for District 12 on Tuesday, April 5, at the Cleveland Metro Bar Association.
Odum’s strong work ethic developed at a young age. Of his years as a student, he says, “I loved to read and may have been the only student reading every textbook from beginning to end, knowing the teacher might not get to the material. I knew that just hearing Shakespeare’s name in class wouldn’t be enough so Romeo and Juliet and the Bard’s life were up to me to do on my own.”
Before becoming an attorney, Odum taught 5th grade with Teach for America in Atlanta, Georgia, instilling in his students the same passion he has for learning. He now works for Tucker Ellis LLP in Cleveland, Ohio, where his areas of practice include mass tort and maritime litigation.
Outside of the office, Odum spends his time as a member on the Cleveland Early College High School Advisory Board, the Cleveland High School for Digital Arts Advisory Board and the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning Executive Board. He serves as a Louis Stokes Scholars Mentor and a 3Rs volunteer through the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. In addition, he is a member of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network and the Cornell Club of Northeast Ohio.
Odum received his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and earned his Juris Doctor from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
