Burkett becomes trustee of state bar foundation
Columbus OH (Jan. 6, 2017)— The new year brings with it a new board member for the Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF) as J. Kristin Burkett of Newark begins her three-year term. She will join an accomplished group of 20 legal professionals who are committed to promoting public understanding of the rule of law and improvements in the justice system.
Burkett is the managing partner in the firm Burkett & Sanderson, Inc., which maintains offices in Licking and Fairfield counties. She has spent the last 26 years representing criminal defendants in federal and state cases. She is a Criminal Justice Act approved attorney.
Burkett is a 2014 Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation, served on the Board of Governors for the Ohio State Bar Association from 2013-2016. She is a member of the Licking County Bar Association Executive Committee, the Fairfield County Bar Association and the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
After earning her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, Burkett received her law degree from Capital Law School.
