
Newlove recognized by law foundation for community service
BOWLING GREEN ATTORNEY RECEIVES BAR FOUNDATION HONOR
Columbus – (December 1, 2009) Ms. Megan E. Newlove of Bowling Green won district honors from the Ohio State Bar Foundation as this year’s recipient of the Award for Community Service by Attorneys 40 and Under. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association District 3.
The Ohio State Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Ohio State Bar Association. The Foundation advances the philanthropic interest of Ohio Lawyers to recognize excellence, improve the justice system and enhance public understanding of the law.
Ms. Newlove was nominated for the honor by Mr. Mathew Reger for her commitment to public service. She runs her own law firm where her general civil practice focuses on real estate law, business law and domestic relations. She is in her third term as a Bowling Green Councilwoman and belongs to the Wood County, Ohio State and Michigan Bar Associations.
Outside of the legal profession Ms. Newlove donates her time to the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities. She also volunteers for the Bowling Green Black Swamp Art Festival as well as the “Out of the Darkness Walk” for suicidal prevention awareness. It is for these services to the community that Ms. Newlove received the Award for Community Service by Attorneys 40 and Under.
This award is presented to honorees in Ohio State Bar Association Districts across Ohio. It recognizes attorneys aged 40 or younger who contribute substantial time and effort to a local social service, or a local civic, artistic or cultural organization. The service must be outside the recipient’s practice of law and must be given without compensation. Recipients should represent the ideals of the legal profession, be a credit to the profession and enjoy a fine professional reputation.
