NEWBURY ATTORNEY RECEIVES BAR FOUNDATION HONOR
Columbus – (December 1, 2009) Ms. Carolyn J. Paschke of Newbury won district honors from the Ohio State Bar Foundation as this year’s recipient of the Award for Community Service by Attorneys 40 and Under. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association District 18.
The Ohio State Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Ohio State Bar Association. The Foundation advances the philanthropic interest of Ohio Lawyers to recognize excellence, improve the justice system and enhance public understanding of the law.
Ms. Paschke was nominated for the honor by Mrs. Lora Lynne Stalnaker and Ms. Lynne Day for her commitment to public service. She runs her own law firm and has practiced in the areas of civil litigation, estate and probate, bankruptcy, domestic relations, personal injury, contracts and business. She is a member of the Geauga County Bar Association as well as the Cleveland, Ohio State and American Bar Associations.
Outside of the legal profession Ms. Paschke donates her time as a fundraiser and team member for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She volunteers as a team member for the Women’s Renewal at St. Helen’s Catholic Church and is the Secretary of the St. Helen School Parent Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the Chagrin Valley Women’s League, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for five different charities through volunteer activities. It is for these services to the community that Ms. Paschke received the Award for Community Service by Attorneys 40 and Under.
This award is presented to honorees in Ohio State Bar Association Districts across Ohio. It recognizes attorneys aged 40 or younger who contribute substantial time and effort to a local social service, or a local civic, artistic or cultural organization. The service must be outside the recipient’s practice of law and must be given without compensation. Recipients should represent the ideals of the legal profession, be a credit to the profession and enjoy a fine professional reputation.
