Foundation Selects Award Honorees

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Aug. 25) – The Ohio State Bar Foundation announced its 2008 award winners, recognizing achievements and contributions to the legal profession.

Recipients will receive their awards during the Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner on Friday, October 24 at the Columbus Marriott Northwest.

The Ritter Award for outstanding contributions to the administration of justice will be presented to Joseph W. Shea, III of Cincinnati.

The Honorary Life Fellowship Award recognizes a lifetime of service to the public and will be received by The Honorable Michael R. Merz of Dayton.

The Outstanding Program or Organization Award is given to a nonprofit organization, agency, government entity, association or program that is consistent with the mission of the Foundation. The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s 3Rs program is this year’s honoree.

The Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under, which recognizes contributions of substantial time and effort in service to a local social service, or a local civic, artistic or cultural organization, will be presented to Robert W. Edmund of Columbus.
